isabella etou only uses 925 sterling silver. Sterling silver is a precious metal that tarnishes with time because of its composition. If your jewelry has darkened, then your silver has tarnished. Tarnish is the result of a chemical reaction with oxygen or sulfur particles in the air. Proper storage and regular cleaning are essential.
A. Common reasons for tarnishing:
- Sweat: Tarnishing can occur more easily during sweaty summer months, and the degree varies based on individual body chemistry.
- Cosmetics, hair products, perfumes: Exposure to perfumes, cosmetics, and body lotions can accelerate tarnishing.
- Rubber components: Storing near rubber items, especially rubber bands, can accelerate tarnishing.
- Hot springs, saunas: Immediate tarnishing occurs when silver is in contact with sulfur-containing water such as hot springs.
B. Storage methods:
Once cleaned and polished, silver must be kept dry and properly stored in airtight containers such as the polybag provided with purchase.
Keep in a cool, dark place with low humidity. Sunlight, heat and moisture accelerate tarnishing.
Store pieces individually. Storing your pieces separately prevents any chance of jewelry scratching or tangling with each other. For extra protection, store your jewelry with anti-tarnish strips or a packet of silica gel.
C. Home care:
Use Town Talk Silver Polish Cloth or a special non-abrasive silver polish cloth avoiding rubbing on gemstones to clean your silver jewelry. The polish cloth is treated with a chemical cleaner that can be harmful to stones. Clean your jewelry regularly to prevent tarnish build up.

- Since all jewelry products are made to order, exchanges or refunds due to simple changes of mind are not possible.
- Due to the natural characteristics of gemstones and freshwater pearls, slight variations in color and shape may occur, which cannot be grounds for returns.
- Exchanges for products with sizes are possible for other sizes within the respective option.
